BelMar Blu—a name inspired by the combination of founder Blessing Floyd and her parents—was born from a deep love for beauty, wellness, and the quiet power of self-care. Blessing is a licensed esthetician, makeup artist, wife, veteran, and entrepreneur who has been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. She began her career as a natural hair stylist and later transitioned into makeup artistry, where she discovered a powerful truth: many people were using makeup to hide their skin, not celebrate it. That realization became the spark for something more. Originally from Nigeria, raised in Rhode Island, and now based in Maryland (can you guess her first language?), Blessing made the switch to skincare four years ago with a clear purpose—to create a space where people could feel seen, understood, and cared for inside and out. As someone who has personally navigated oily skin, picking, and overall neglect, she understands the journey her clients are on. She opened BelMar Blu to fill a gap in the industry: a Studio that not only delivers results-driven treatments, but also pours intention, faith, education, and heart into every service. BelMar Blu is more than a skincare studio—it’s a sanctuary. A place where routines become rituals, and where clients are encouraged to embrace their natural beauty rather than mask it.
